Leadoff Project Needs Your Help: Feeding Families in Need for Thanksgiving
In 2022, we launched Leadoff Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to help those in need and to help advance our community. We started slowly with feeding the homeless, launching a golf tournament for a family who lost their husband/father, providing a Christmas dinner for 10 families, and other forms of benevolence. Ginger Dennie (my wife) runs the “Snack Sacks” program between Fellowship United Methodist and Medlin Middle School in Trophy Club, Texas. “Snack Sacks” is a program that provides food for children who would not otherwise have a meal over the weekend, i.e., the times when the schools cannot provide free or reduced meals. At the beginning of the 2023 academic year, there were 23 families at Medlin Middle School who qualified for the “Snack Sacks” program. Now, there are 45 families in need. Leadoff Project is looking to raise funds and donations of food to help these families over the Thanksgiving Break. We are looking for funds and donations of turkeys, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, and other common Thanksgiving foods. Please help us support the community and help those in need.
We have opened a Go Fund Me account to accept donations with a goal of raising $5,000.00.
